After 17 years, the curtain is coming down on Amnesia‘s Monday night bluegrass, but it’s going out in style. The Barefoot Nellies are reuniting and opening at 8pm. Belle Monroe and her Brewglass Boys, also reuniting, will play the middle slot and regulars Windy Hill are headlining.
The prior Monday, the 17th, is also looking good with Fog Holler/Town Howlers/Toshio Hirano. Toshio, a popular Amnesia regular back in the aughts, was forced into retirement by arthritis. When a guitar player can’t hold a C-chord, he knows time’s up. Don’t expect him to play very long, but you can expect him to give it all he’s got.
