Bay Beats is a free streaming service from the San Francisco Public Library and is accepting music from musicians throughout the nine Bay Area counties until July 31st. SFPL Submission Page
They’re seeking original or out-of-copyright material and leaning toward recent releases from currently performing musicians.
They’ve assembled a selection committee that’s representative of Bay Area music from traditional to experimental. Those whose tunes are selected will also receive a $250 “thank you” gift. Talk about win-win! This service is the best thing to happen to local musicians since independent record stores.
