A few times each year Hicks with Sticks hosts a special edition Bluegrass Signal on KALW and bluegrass takes the day off to broadcast the latest music from the San Francisco Bay Area’s western swing, honky-tonk, alt-country and rockabilly bands. That makes up most of what you’ll hear on this podcast which, along with the SFBA tunes, includes some music from the Sacramento Valley and Oakdale which is on the road to Yosemite. There’s also a three-song tribute to Jimmy Buffet who’d passed away a few weeks before the broadcast.
